Freestate Baltimore has completed a total of 3.9 million square feet of fulfillment and distribution facilities for Tradepoint Atlantic. Tradepoint Atlantic is a distribution and logistics hub on the site of the former Bethlehem Steel plant at Sparrows Point. As part of a greater revitalization effort, this 3,250-acre property has been updated to accommodate a new generation of industry utilizing state of the art technology. This project continues to have a positive impact on the community, returning an estimated 17,000 jobs to the Baltimore area as well as supporting local small businesses and MBE subcontractors. In addition to its economic impact, the site has benefited from a $48 million environmental cleanup process.
To support Tradepoint clients, Freestate Baltimore completed over 300,000 manhours of work in a nine-month period without a lost time accident in 2018.
Electrical work consisted of installation of over 14,000 light fixtures, including lighting control systems and exterior lighting. Fire Alarm systems and power distribution were installed throughout the facility, as well as state-of-the-art conveyor systems, power and controls.
