This project consisted of a two story laboratory and admin building to provide additional space to allow the H.L. Mooney Facility to meet higher testing standards and best practices using the latest technology. The new laboratory features a logical program arrangement, isolated testing environments and upgraded safety control systems. Environmental stewardship and community education will also be front-and-center in the new public learning center. Several interactive exhibits will educate visitors on ways the Mooney Facility protects the Chesapeake Bay and provides safe, reliable drinking water to the community.
The electrical scope included a fully programmable integrated lighting control system (Wattstopper) throughout the project. The building also features (2) 1000kVA Pad Mounted Transformers, 1600 AMP Switchboard, LV Motor Control Center, UPS, Central Battery Lighting Inverter, Fire Alarm System and Security and Card Access System, Data and Control System to integrate with the existing facility.
